Developing Film with Coffee and Vitamin C
mz photo 150x150 How To: Develop Film with Coffee and Vitamin CHere at MAKE, we love both coffee and photography, but who knew that these two passions could be combined like this? Our friends at Photojojo have an excellent step-by-step tutorial on how to use instant coffee and vitamin C to process black and white negative film. Of course, there are a few other household ingredients you’ll need such as washing soda, distilled water, and dishwashing soap. You’ll also need a daylight developing tank and photographic fixer, both of which can be found at a photo shop that sells darkroom supplies. If you’re skeptical about the quality of the resulting photographs, check out the galleries at Caffenol, a blog devoted to the art of using coffee to process negatives.
