Orbit Smartphone Suction Mount

Your smartphone is no DSLR, but chances are it’s the camera you’re carrying with you almost everywhere you go. We’ve seen many DIY smartphone tripod mounts, some clever, some not so much. The Glif being a prime example of a clever design. Of course there’s more than one way to do it, so it was just a matter of time before something just a clever came along. The Orbit is a swiveling smartphone suction mount in the final stages of development, and from the looks of it, seems to be a pretty versatile mounting device. [via Core77]

Too many distracted drivers using cell phone already. We need a regulation applied to all vehicles sold in the USA that puts a device in autos that either switches the phone to automatic answer mode with no driver interrupt or a blue tooth device in the car that records the incoming call and allows driver attention only with the car in park.

Don’t forget to put duct tape on all passengers’ mouths and a sniffer to detect double cheeseburgers.  The only thing worse than a distracted driver is someone suggesting new laws.  It’s already illegal to be distracted when driving and its not possible to pass a law for each separate thing grampa thinks might be too much for other people to handle.  Despite all the phony research, there are a lot of things people do in cars more distracting than talking.
