EcoATM looking to become the Redbox of device recycling @ ExtremeTech:
A California-based company is looking to make the lives of technophiles easier by providing an easy way to get rid of old, unwanted electronics. Called EcoATM, the company claims to be the first to develop kiosks, to be placed in supermarkets and other retail locations, that allow users to receive immediate cash for old phones, iPods, iPads, Kindles, and other portable devices. Its stated goal is to give you a way to both dispose of your old tech properly and get a bit of return for doing so.

When the new version of the EcoATM comes out, they can deposit the old machine into the new one!
I shudder to think many iPads are going to be recycled these days – they’re still so new! (Not including the unfortunate broken ones.)
