We’re putting the printers through their paces at our 3D printer test weekend. We’ve done simple tests, torture tests, and beauty tests. For the first print, we went with Zomboe’s Snake model (seen here). We’re putting all of the test prints in labeled bags so we can keep them all straight and compare/photograph them later. It’s fascinating to look at multiple prints of the same thing, done on different printers, and compare their respective strengths and weaknesses. We’re learning a lot.

Are the calibrations you did for each printer documented too?
This sounds like a really valuable project.
The first print we did, what we’re calling the Christmas morning test, uses all of the settings that the mfr. suggests. Then we’re going to have a sidebar next to each review with pro tips for calibrating/optimizing each machine.
Saw you guys in Cleveland, ingenuity fest 12. Got to see some awesome 3-D printing in action, and samples!
