Scenes from the Homegrown Village in years past.

We’re gearing up for Maker Faire Bay Area (May 18-19) here at MAKE HQ. One of the recurring features at Maker Faire is the Homegrown Village, a hands-on (and handmade) collection of displays and exhibits that celebrate the most fundamental form of making: making food! Joining me on Food Makers, a weekly Google+ hangout on air, will be Kim Dow, manager of the Homegrown Village.

Homegrown Village will include food and farming projects, urban homesteading tips, cooking demos, and much more. For the fifth year running, Homegrown Village will be partnering with Farm Aid. If you’re a fan of cooking, farming, and eating be sure to tune in at 2pm PST/5pm EST to see what the Homegrown Village has in store for you this year. Tune in right here and if you can’t watch the live broadcast head over the our YouTube page to watch the archived video.
