MAKE’s 2013 Hardware Innovation Workshop is only days away, and we still have a few more makers to feature as part of the “pitches with prototypes” contest. Next up is the Lumiglass Infinity sign by ProtoTank. We have featured a few variations of edge-lit displays before, but the ProtoTank team has turned it up a notch with their unique materials and display system.

“You’ve seen this trick at your local science museum: Put two mirrors facing each other. The one nearer to you is made to let a little light through. Put lights in between. You see the lights receding off to infinity. We tried the same thing using our Lumiglass signs.”

The ProtoTank team is currently developing new products and building their prototypes at TechShop in San Francisco. More and more makers are not only getting their start at local TechShops and community spaces, but they are thriving and continuing to work there even after having industry success.

Check out the video pitch they sent us for the Hardware Innovation Workshop’s prototype contest. What do you think about the Luminglass Infinity display system? Would you back their company? Let us know in the comments.

Don’t forget to register for the MAKE Hardware Innovation Workshop, there are only a few days left.
