A Steam-Powered Printing Press at Maker Faire

The crew from Kinetic Steam Works are seen above, hard at work on turning the power of steam into the power of the pen. They have a tidy little (ok, big, it’s made of cast iron) 3 hp steam engine that drives a belt attached to the mechanism in their circa 1896 printing press.

They’ll be using this press throughout the weekend at Maker Faire Bay Area to create commemorative beverage coasters for passersby.
