Maker Faire Rome: Call for Makers Extended!

Maker Faire Rome: Call for Makers Extended!

Maker Faire Rome is set for Oct. 3-6 and is drawing a wide range of makers from Italy and Europe at large. The four-day event is planned to be the first pan-European Maker Faire of its kind. And now the deadline for makers has been extended to June 30. To submit an application, please click here. If you’re a European-based maker, or a maker who wants to meet other makers in Rome, you’ve got roughly three weeks to get you application in.

Maker Faire Rome is looking for makers in following fields:

  • 3D Printing
  • Robot
  • Education
  • Design
  • Fashion
  • Arduino
  • Crafts
  • Science
  • Digital Fabrication
  • Green
  • Transportation
  • Young Makers (under 16)

Co-curators Massimo Banzi and Riccardo Luna knew that the maker movement in Europe was thriving, but they’ve been surprised to learn just how big it’s become. Members of the Maker Faire Rome team set out on a 30-day tour of Europe in an RV done up in the bright Maker Faire Rome colors. The team traveled to France, Germany, Holland, Denmark, and Finland, meeting makers and stopping at makerspaces and fablabs along the way. The RV is now rambling across their home turf in Italy to meet Italian makers.
