Dundee, Scotland is known as the City of Discovery because of its history of innovation, so it only makes sense that the first Dundee Mini Maker Faire will take place this weekend, on Sunday, November 10, from 10am to 4pm, at the historic Chamber East, as part of the annual Dundee Science Festival. Organizers Erin Hardee and Alexandra Forrest are passionate about promoting hands-on learning, making technology accessible to all, and showcasing the talents of the Dundee maker community. Below is a sampling of the makers who will be exhibiting.

I'm a word nerd who loves to geek out on how emerging technology affects the lexicon. I was an editor on the first 40 volumes of MAKE, and I love shining light on the incredible makers in our community. In particular, covering art is my passion — after all, art is the first thing most of us ever made. When not fawning over perfect word choices, I can be found on the nearest mountain, looking for untouched powder fields and ideal alpine lakes.
