Miami Mini Maker Faire 2013

Miami Mini Maker Faire 2013

Miami’s first Maker Faire welcomed over 1,600 attendees Saturday, Nov. 16, featuring a wide ranging array of South Florida makers in Miami’s Wynwood district. As one of the organizers of Orlando Mini Maker Faire, we were excited to see our friends from South Florida producing a mini maker fair of their own, and they did not disappoint!

I chatted with one of the Miami Mini Maker organizers, Mike Greenberg, near the end of the event. He expressed how thrilled they are that community embraced the fair.

“There are so many international communities in Miami, and they have a history of being very resourceful – they are makers by necessity, and it is great to see them show off their creativity.” He’s also excited that the local makers are now aware of Maker Faire and will be representing South Florida at the larger Maker Faires in 2014.

Very nice. It was a fun event, and it was great to see so many Orlando Makers come down to support the Miami Makers!
