What makes this project particularly fascinating are the background materials the artist provides. For example, the Flickr photoset showing the stacked motor shields controlling the servos. (Presumably; there isn’t much in the way of a technical explanation of the project.)
I also loved seeing a Lego prototype–a proof of concept that shows the evolution of the display. [via Adafruit]

simple stupid question: how many servos? 64? N ‘pixels’ therefore N servos? or is there a mechanical means of “charlieplexing” these things? …thankee
