Shortly after 3D Systems broke the news about their new sugar, chocolate, ceramic, and full-color powder printers MAKE visited their booth at CES 2014 to get the full story behind these incredible machines.

I discussed 3DS’ newest FFF printers, the Cube 3 and CubePro with Keith Ozar, 3D Systems’ Director of Consumer Products. NOTE: The prints shown in the video that overlay Keith’s commentary on the Cube 3 and Cube Pro were not necessarily printed on those machines. They were printed on a variety of other printers on display at 3D System’s CES booth, including the full-color CubeJet.

Next, I had the pleasure of meeting Sugar Lab founders Liz and Kyle von Hasseln.  The ChefJet monochrome and ChefJet Pro multicolor sugar printers were on display along with huge intricate sugar prints, as well as samples for lucky CES goers. The sour apple, cherry and watermelon 3D printed sugar tastes a bit like cotton candy and was delicious.

I also had the opportunity to get some background on the CeraJet ceramic printer from Andrew Jeffery. plus details on the colorful CubeJet.
