Come See MAKE at the USA Science and Engineering Festival

MAKE at USASEF

This weekend, MAKE is exhibiting at the USA Science and Engineering Festival (Washington, DC on April 26 and 27). Come look for us at the “Make: Presents” booth in Earth Sciences Pavilion, Hall C, Booth Number 3445. We’ll be there along with the Digital Harbor Foundation and the Maker Education Initiative.

Digital Harbor Foundation
The Digital Harbor Foundation (DHF) is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that transformed a closed-down Rec Center into a highly engaging “Tech Center” makerspace for youth. Ongoing programs are offered for individuals in 1st through 12th grade in the out-of-school time (afterschool and summer) covering topics such as web and app development, digital design and 3D printing, micro-controller programming and circuitry, as well as a variety of other digital mixed media projects.
Maker Education Initiative
Maker Education Initiative (Maker Ed): Director of Strategic Alliances Rachel Goldman Alper will be available to answer questions about ways for communities, organizations, and educators to provide making opportunities to their youth. Maker Ed’s mission is to create more opportunities for all young people to develop confidence, creativity, and interest in science, technology, engineering, math, art, and learning as a whole through making.

Make: Books authors Adam Kemp (The Makerspace Workbench) and Carla Diana (LEO the Maker Prince) will be joining us as well (Adam on Saturday, Carla on Saturday and Sunday). We’ll have both books on sale there for a discounted show price, along with Make: 3D Printing.

I'm a tinkerer and finally reached the point where I fix more things than I break. When I'm not tinkering, I'm probably editing a book for Maker Media.
