This mathematical Adventure Time chair was made by Imgur user reallylovely from an upcycled old chair. It’s really amazing how well the Adventure Time characters work with the existing design of the antique chair!
I came up with this design. Right away, I could see exactly where the face would go, and how I could make the curved areas into cute little arms. The arm placement determined the facial expression, which is quite joyous :) The swirls inside the arms took a while to work into the design, but I was able to disguise the area with his backpack straps. I was also delighted that the carved legs of the chair perfectly allowed for sectioning of his shorts, legs, socks and shoes!
After posting a picture of the painted chair on reddit, reallylovely got an inpired suggestion to applique a sleeping Jake onto the refurbished seat of the chair. And to top it all off, reallylovely added a few coats of glow-in-the-dark paint to all the white parts of the chair design. This chair is just something to keep in mind the next time you go antiquing, or see an old chair by the side of the road, because it could be just a few coats of paint away from being an awesome character from your favorite cartoon!
