I don’t know anyone — kid or grown-up — who doesn’t delight in watching a fun and foamy explosion of fizz. (You know, like those cool erupting volcanoes you made in science class back in the day.) Well, it turns out those chemistry lessons of years past have a whole lot in common with your favorite bath bombs. And, even better, those fizzy bath products are totally easy to make at home using some of the same inexpensive kitchen ingredients. Give it a try this weekend with this easy-to-follow recipe from Kim Werker!

Instructions for DIY bath bombs are pretty common on the crafty internet, but I especially like Kim’s handle on the science and her very detailed guide to many different colorant options. Her research game is top notch!

This is definitely a family-friendly project, but I think handmade bath bombs would make a great gift idea for makers of any age.
