You can usually find unusual and interesting things from city street vendors that sell everything from delicious foods and incredible works of art. Every country around the globe has their own unique street hawkers, including Egypt, which has vendors that create 3D works of art inside bottles using colored sand.

Artists begin the process of their builds by usually applying a pattern using glue inside the bottle, which becomes prominent when the sand is added. They then add the sand for the images themselves using various sized funnels that have wide and short openings at the stem. This allows them to mix colors to varying degrees or keep them solitary, depending on the patterns.

A small metal rod is then used to manipulate the sand to get the images just right and the end result is simply beautiful but the process of getting there is mesmerizing. The artists make it look so simple and easy to accomplish, however I suspect that my attempt would end up being something only a mother could love.
