This mallet is a copy of one I found at a garage sale many years ago. The one I bought was broken, being sold as an antique. This is made from one of the cut offs I have left over from a large slab of white oak — very hard and very dry — that I purchased to use for a table.
Now that I have successfully made this one, I may make a few more. The 10′×3″ brass pipe was left over from a lamp I made last year, and the brass colored rings make a nice accent to the white oak. (The original mallet had steel rings.) I used a Briwax to protect the surface. Thank you, and enjoy!
