Having spent many summers working for his Dad’s construction company, Arman left a teaching career to start his own design and construction business. After moving to Baltimore in 2013, he switched gears to furniture and found his tribe at the Station North Tool Library. After a year of helping run their community workshop, he joined the staff to launch an in-house workforce development program, Surface Project. Surface Project teaches individuals with barriers to employment how to build tables and surfaces from reclaimed materials. He doesn’t get to build as much these days but when he does, “It’s usually kind of weird and very cool.”
