Thanks Mike- These kinds of puzzles are always a fun diversion, but also a good starting point for learning about "constraint-satisfaction" problems and exploring their solutions in a variety of automated ways (e.g. Prolog is popular one). Maybe post a solution using one of these techniques? Best, -kg-

it's similar to another one I did several years ago...
it was supposed to be invented by Einstein and - according to Einstein - it was too difficul for 98% of the people.
Do you know if this is true?
