This then drives a 4024 7bit counter for seconds connected to a 4 input AND gate, half of a 4082, which in turn drives the clock input of another 4024 which counts minutes. A similar thing happens for minutes to hours. – Link

    Brings back memories…did this project as a 6th grade science project in ’78. I used the 60 hz signal from the ac mains, put it through a divide by 10 and a divide by six to get a 1hz clock. the rest was similar ( as far as i can recall…). accurate enough for me back in the day!
