Soldering floss

From the MAKE Flickr Pool: user fibra has refilled dental floss containers with soldering wire! Perfect for keeping your shop organized, but be sure not to mix it up with the one in the bathroom. For all the time it must take to wind this, I dare say there’s a market for these things.

I have been using a 35mm film cartridge since high school, about (ahem) 30 years ago. It only takes about 10 minutes to wind it up and totally rocks. Small enough to fit in your hand and easy to feed the solder with two fingers while holding the iron in the other hand.

He’s been using them for as long as I can remember, and they work beautifully. He uses a power drill to cut down on the time it takes to fill one.
