MAKE Flickr Pool member Rory Nugent, a resident researcher at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, posted some cool BEAM-like robo-critters he created as part of his thesis. You can see his thesis presentation on the link below. In it, he explains his exploration of how to imbue machines, robots, with the characteristics of life. Through this work, he touches on one of the things that originally attracted me to the BEAM approach; how easy it actually is for us to see the character of biology in very simple, personified machinery.
