Since my daughters love horses, since Sunday was Father’s Day, and since we were celebrating my daughter’s half birthday this week (she was born in December); I let my kids persuade me to tackle another project just for them. This Father's Day weekend, we spent four hours together with some lumber, power tools, and craft supplies. I did the cutting, and with my help the kids did some sanding and screwing, then my oldest daughter drew the eyes and nose on our sawhorse. The horse's name is Belle. She is great with children and low maintenance. Thanks to an unusually long back, all three can ride at once.

But it can be difficult to enjoy certain games if you are injured or disabled and don't have the manual dexterity needed to execute fast button combos. Fortunately, we can use an Arduino to do it for us. The Arduino can send signals to the controller that simulate the buttons being pressed. This lets you pre-program commands that can be activated by a single button. This kind of mod could be used to help more gamers enjoy combo heavy games.
Read more on MAKE

The 11-story building was removed to make way for a park.
Read more on MAKE

If you have a good video camera, some mad skillz, and the desire to witness epic destruction, we'd love to have you shoot the event for the Make blog. Drop us a line at editors@makezine.com and we'll get you connected.
Read more on MAKE
