That’s what happened to Tumbler user No Synonym for a Synonym when she spent 3 months making this spectacular embroidery piece “while listening to StarTalk, watching Cosmos, and marathoning some Star Trek TNG.”
This piece is called Mystic Mountain, and it depicts the Carina Nebula in 35 colors and about 12,000 stitches.
The Carina Nebula is a stellar nursery 7,500 light years away from earth. Eta Carinae, one of the most humungous stars in the universe, can be found there. It is about four times larger, and even brighter than the more well known Orion Nebula. You can see it in the southern sky.
