All Hands Active at Maker Faire Detroit

All Hands Active is a massive collaboration of makers who brought a creative free-for-all to Maker Faire Detroit. They called it Wreck Lab, and it was just that. Kids got to tear apart all sorts of junked technology to learn more about how things work. Tons of children who came by the booth donned safety goggles, listened to some great beats, and went to town breaking stuff! When the Wreck Lab ran out of their weekend’s worth of supplies in the first 3 hours, they didn’t falter. Instead a quick thinking team member sent his mother on a junk run!

Oh, and there was a giant graffiti cardboard castle too! I gave AHA an Editor’s Choice Blue Ribbon, and they in turn gave me their highest honors, a Red and Black Typewriter Ribbon!

The Ann Arbor-area hackerspace, All Hands Active, would like to have a booth at the Detroit Maker Faire in the form of a cardboard castle, with a basic lumber core.

The Original On-Air DIY-er, Red Green, made a visit to Detroit in early July of 2010. To honor his visit, i3 Detroit made a 26 foot tall statue of him entirely out of 3M duct tape.

My favorite hands-on parts were Replayground, creating things in the Xyron area, and the Arts & Scraps booth. I would have spent more time in the craft area were it not for my maker son who kept me moving!

Everyone carries hand sanitizers around nowadays. What is the active ingredient? Is the the Isoporpyl alcohol? Does it really work?
I mean does it kill all the germs?

One needs to carefully analyse the logic from where the Government is building up its case. Here one often sees reference to a high “percentage of fatal accidents”. What we miss here is that, of all the bike-riders about 99.9% never might have fallen off at least once in their lifetime. So the whole government logic becomes very stupid and condemn-worthy. If one digs a bit deeper, perhaps, a helmet-corporate and government nexus may get exposed.

Research shows Northern Illinois University could not prevent this crime!Preventing Crime Is everyone’s responsibility
I guess it’s human for people today to be in a make believe world of their own, safe and secure, families living happy, healthy and successful. Nothing wrong with a happy family life, we all want such. True reality of life after September 11th is too much to fathom for Americans over three hundred million populace. We look at our little individual worlds as a safe haven far from crime and terrorist attacks!
