It takes a book like One-Yard Wonders to make you realize the potential of what you can make with simply one yard of fabric! Authors Rebecca Yaker and Patrica Hoskins fill the book with 101 sewing projects for you, your kids, and practically every room in your house. The spiral-bound book comes also with a pocket with lots of pattern pieces. Some of my favorite projects are the ones for organization and clothing. I’m still amazed that all of the projects can be made with just one yard. This book gives you a great excuse to splurge on a variety of patterned fabric since all you need is one yard! Book Giveaway Time! We are giving away 3 copies of One-Yard Wonders. Just leave a comment in this post and tell us why you need this book. Please make sure you include your email address in the comment form field (won’t be published). All comments will be closed by 5pm PST on Friday, December 4th. The lucky winners will be announced on the site. Good luck! See more of my favorite projects from the book after the jump!
There are so many great clothing projects in the book for women and kids. I’m loving this strapless belted tunic (you could wear this now with a black turtleneck under!) and this adorable Ballet-Neck Toddler Dress. The projects for the home are not to shabby either. I’m in dire need of organizing and cleaning. I love this Sewing Tools Trio project where you can sew up a sewing machine cover, wrist pincushion, and needlebook holder. I also love this hanging wall pocket — a pretty way to sort your bills.
