I love crafting with kids and this new book, Sewing School: 21 Sewing Projects Kids Will Love to Make gets me really excited for sewing with kids! It’s a book that’s perfect for the upcoming rainy and snowy days when you’re stuck indoors with your bored little ones. Authors Amie Petronis Plumley and Andria Lisle bring their experience running a children’s sewing camp to the 21 projects featured in this book such as small bags, plush dolls, clothing and more. All the projects are kid-tested and most of them don’t require the use of a sewing machine, just simple hand stitches. I love that the projects in the book feature kids from the final project photo to the little hands and fingers in each of the step by step photos. The spiral bound book also includes a packet of templates and patterns in the front pocket. Sewing School will also make a great holiday gift for your kids.

I would love to take these projects on myself…make gifts for my friends kids…and then teach them how to do it!! New to sewing…and addicted already.
I’m a newby seamstress, and I have a 14 yr old granddaughter that I’d love to make projects with. This would be a wonderful book for us to learn together!
I have always done crafts with my children but I have not tackled any sewing projects with them. We would LOVE this book! We have a long winter ahead of us and it would help to have a book filled with great projects & instructions. I hope that we win a copy! :)
I volunteer in a waldorf inspired school doing craft projects with several classes including my daughters.
I’d love to learn some techniques & projects that are easy to introduce to kids. I’ve been doing felting with them for years but would like to do more sewing projects. My 6 year old is just starting to sew and I know she would really love to learn more. I need help know how to explain it as sewing is not my strong suit and I’d love to learn with them too. Or at least learn it and then show them after.
My Daughter has just discovered the art of sewing and she would love this book. Also I could use a refresher.
Planning on buying him a set of kids’ knitting needles this year … but he’d love make something on the sewing machine with me too! Looking for some sweet inspiration!
My daughter has been asking for an age appropriate project! This sounds like just the book we need! Pick me, pick me! :)
I have been asked many times to teach small groups to sew but I am not sure where to start. I have also found when working with my daughter that I assume she knows thing because I have been sewing for over 30 years. This would really help me help raise another generation of sewing fanatics.
I would LOVE this book even for the ideas of what to make for kids that they would like. In addition, it would be fun to try out these projects with my wee neighbour kids and maybe … someday … my own currently unconceived grandchildren.
I can think of several children in my life who would love to try some projects with me. Of course, I might well like to try these myself!
Most of the time my Moo (9 years) asks me what are we going to make today and we have a look through my books for inspiration. This time I can say to her “Moo what shall we make today?” and she’ll be able to look through her own book!! YAY…

I would use this book as a tool for crafts for my playgroup and encourage the moms to be creative with their children.
This gift would not go wasted!
I’d love to have this book for myself. I figure if it’s meant for children, I can probably swing it!
I want to start a sewing class for kindergarteners at my son’s school and this looks like the perfect place to start.
I have 7 grandkids all within 3 miles of me. They love to make things and sewing is one of my loves. I bought the oldest one a sewing machine last year for Christmas, so I’d love to win because it would give me some great ideas of sewing projects to do with them.
I think this book could be very handy in entertaining my 3 kiddies during their 6 week school holiday. Sure it is Summer {I’m in Australia}…..but with the amount of rainy days we are having I need a good entertainment option for ALL those wet days stuck inside!
Would love to have this book to help keep me busy during LONG Wisconsin winters with my daughter when we’re cooped up indoors!
She’s a beginner and new projects are always fun!
I have two small children and want to get them sewing at a young age. I just know that this will help me instruct them in the best way I can :)
Ooooh, I would love to win this book! My daughter is 10 years old and learned to sew by hand last year and this summer, I bought her a sewing machine of her own and she’s been making her own clothes and gifts for friends. I know she and I would get a ton of use out of this book!
My 7 year old just got a gift certificate for 2 sewing classes for her birthday. I grew up sewing and would love her to learn early as well! I think she and I would have great fun doing it together.

I would love this book so that I can teach my child the value of knowing how to sew and encourage creativity as well.
My kids are always climbing on me while I sew and want to help. Seems that I am always making gifts and a family sewing book would give us a reason to do something for ourselves!
I have a 6 year old who has become obsessed with learning to sew. I so enjoy sharing my new-found passion with her, and this book looks right up our alley! I am so thrilled to be able to share so much with her.
My niece would to work on these projects
I just suggested a sewing kit for my 7 year old for Xmas. This would be the perfect book to go in it!
I have a niece on the way (due in March) and I can’t wait to be able to start teaching her to be an awesome, self-sufficient, DIY-er. I’m already working on lots of stuffed animals to give her and spark her interest in all things handmade.

My 11 yr old daughter Mara loves to create! You can often find her down in our basement, making something cool out of various materials she has gathered up! She wants to learn to sew and it would be great if she could gain confidence by learning to do so independently! This book seems like just the thing to help her launch her imagination!
I’m so excited about this book. My daughters have just started showing real interest in learning how to sew and I have been looking to find easy but cool projects for them to work on. This is the PERFECT book! I so would love to win this giveaway!

I love new projects that I can do with my little lads.
We just finished our new house in which we have made a large kitchen to accommodate teaching classes! This would help so much to give me direction. We live out in the country and are looking for ways to be more community minded! Thanks and blessings!
My little guy is just getting to the age where he would really enjoy some of the crafts in this book!
This book looks fresh and exciting. I am a teacher of sewing having my own studio Studio Stitch. studiostitch.com
I teach children as young as six years old to sew and would love to use this book in my sewing school. I teach 30 plus children and parents alike each week in small classes of 4. I also do charity sewing for the riseupinternational.com and would love to use some ideas from the book to benefit children in India and Nicaragua. Thank you!
My daughter really wants to learn to sew and I think this book would be a big help. I’m still learning myself so it would be nice to have some direction as far as where to start teaching her!
Hee! I know, right? That’s how I finally tackled Knitting, I got the “Kids can Knit” book. Kids’ books are generally more straight forward and don’t make the mistake of assuming you know anything starting out.
My girls have just started wondering about how I’m able to make the simple projects that I make – this would be great to have some idea of how to introduce them to and include in my hobby! :)
oh, that would be a wonderful christmas present for my little boy who love to work side by side with mummy!

They’ve been asking to learn to sew for a good while already!
I would love to get this book to help me show my daughter how to sew. I really need ideas for safe, cool projects for little fingers and this book looks like it would hit the spot! Thanks for another great giveaway opportunity Craft!
My oldest son taught himself to sew a few years ago, he could use this book to teach his brothers. :^) My youngest has been doing simple embroidery since the summer, perhaps some of the projects in here would inspire him to move beyond that!
My youngest son has been doing simple embroidery since the summer, but maybe this would inspire him to move on to more complex projects. My oldest son taught himself to sew 2 years ago, he could use this book to teach him brothers! :^)
My mother and grandmother taught me to sew- I plan to carry on this tradition with my children and would love this book.
I’m relearning to sew & my 3 yr old son loves helping figure things out. This would be a great book for us both.
My son is 8 and is just getting into the crafty thing, coming up with crazy projects for himself. This would be great for him to use.
It would be absolute treasure for my 10 year old Ana learning English and sewing at the same time.
My older daughter would love spending her holiday break behind a sewing machine!
…because I never learned to sew and it looks as though someone as inept as me can learn with this book! I subscribe to Craftzine but I am on the bottom rung of the talented crafters!
I work with a group of kids at a battered women’s shelter in PHX. Most of the kids that come in there are shy and timid, not very trusting of any new people especially adults. My 17-year old daughter and I work exclusively with the kids ages 7 and up. This group is really into crafty stuff – when one of them finds something that they connect with, they open up and blossom. It is so wonderful to see a smile that hasn’t been there in a LONG time. One 9-year old in particular in our group right now is extremely closed off. She came in August and has not spoken or made eye contact with anyone. When I mentioned we are trying to aquire sewing donations for our group, she actually looked right at me. I am hopeful sewing is going to be the thing that connects with her. So far we only have one place willing to donate craft/sewing items (times are tough!) so this book would be a great addition!
Thanks for the opportunity!!

My little cousin would love this book! She is always looking up to me and asking me lots of questions about crafts, this would be an awesome way to encourage her to get into crafting more herself!
I’d love this to use with my kids as they get older!
My sister is a new teacher and I’m an obsessed crafter. Would love to enjoy this with her for some sisterly bonding and in turn with her students!
