i need this book so much it hurts. my life is simply not complete without hundreds of thousands of amigurumis, i can feel it deep in the knittings of my soul, but sadly i simply do not know how to make them! i even learned how to crochet with the intent of making up amigurumis, but when push came to shove i never got past how to make a crochet circle!
my husband would tell you that i do NOT need this, nor any of the other books and craft supplies i have. “its so inefficient,” he cries and moans as I get out the craft du jour. but i know deep down, that if i gave him an amigurumi doll, his craft-hating heart would melt faster than an ice cube in the bahamas.
so please, please, let me have this book! i must find a way to break through to my dh’s cold, craftless heart, and i KNOW this will do it!

  3. DEnise says:

I need this because I just learned how to crochet so I can make cute animals like this!

  4. craftycindy says:

I want to learn to make cute little crocheted critters. I promise to decorate my entire cubicle with all of my newest creations!

  5. kathi says:

i need this book because making amigurumi animals really relaxes and soothes me – i need more :)

  6. Jess says:

I’ve got a nephew on the way (I’m going to be an aunt, finally!) and I JUST moved many states away. So I need this book to help me become that awesome aunt that mails super cool handmade presents all the time. I had an aunt like that, and she will always be my favorite:)

  7. Marlana says:

I need this book because my cousin just had a baby and he needs lots of adorable little toys to nom on.

  8. herzleid.myopenid.com says:

The koala really stole my heart, I must have it! I’m a student, so the only books I buy is course literature, which does not come with nifty craft ideas (although I’m secretly nourishing the dream to one day, once I’m done, craft them into … something more enjoyable). It would be a true ray of light in the dark autumn to come to have a book in my hands that is solely for my own enjoyment and fun, and not for grades and career.
Thanks for a wonderful blog by the way! I have absolutely no time to craft anything at the moment, but every day I star some posts from here in my RSS reader, to hopefully have time to go back to them later and get inspired… =)

I recently started a new job and while discussing email strategies, I mentioned how the title of the yarn email I get is the number one factor on weather or not I open it…
Well, the words no sooner left my lips and the entire room ~laughed~ at me because I subscribe to a yarn newsletter! I went on to tell them that in addition to being a fantastic copy writer, I happen to love to crochet.
… They laughed even harder and still tease me a month later.
    The nerve!
Anyway, I have a very brightly decorated cubicle and I have been contemplating a beaded curtain for it. (Yes… the same place that laughs at me because I like to crochet will also allow me to put up a beaded curtain… go figure!)
As soon as I saw these cute little critters I ~knew~ that I must crochet a curtain of leafy vines with these lil’ cuties hanging off of it! Not only will it be the cutest darn thing these people have ever seen, it will force them to kiss my butt if they want me to make a critter for them!! Muahahahaha!
Actually… I wouldn’t make them do that, but these people need to not laugh at someone because they like yarn.
I mean, what’s not to like?
    :D
    So please, pick me!!!!!!

  10. beth says:

    Oh Pick me Pick me!
I would love to win this book and try this new technique!
    Please??
I love cute things like this.

  11. Stef says:

This book would give me a chance to crochet Christmas and/or birthday presents, which would actually be personal, for my large family. Buying presents for so many people gets costly…quickly.

  12. Shannon Ferguson-Beshara says:

I need this book because these adorable little creatures are the perfect size and shape for a baby’s hands! I could make lovely little toys for my future wee one that are safe (no beads) and cuddly! Perfect size for wee ones to love and cuddle and nosh on.

  13. Jill says:

My friend recently asked me to teach her how to crochet because she felt that it was a dying art. This book would be perfect for me to give to her!
    Thank-you!

  14. Alex says:

I can always use more ideas for cute things to crochet for my boyfriend while he’s getting his chemo.

  15. sbd_knits says:

I would love to have this book. I’ve been bonding with my gramma over knitting ever since I took up the craft last year. And now she wants to teach me to crochet! These projects would be an awesome way to exercise the new craft because of the baby-frenzy going on around me. I have no fewer than 3 new bundles of joy due to arrive over the next 6 months, and all of their mommies are anticipating something handmade by me!

  16. Michelle says:

These are the cutest little animals, I want to make a whole bunch of them & let my niece & nephew create an entire play zone with a bunch of adorable creatures! Then of course I want some for myself too!!!

  17. Chaitanya says:

… because I love crochet, I love Roxycraft, and I LOVE cute little things!

  18. Aprille says:

I need to make these for my friends – or try anyway. Pick me!

  19. Patty says:

I hope I win!!! I have to have this because I’ve got RoxyCrafts other pattern, I’m a huge fan!

  21. kariko says:

I need this cuteness to keep me sane–no, really–between all the papers I need to write and activities to develop and degree to achieve, these little amigurumis are perfect to carry around and work on in spurts and the finished product are so darn CUTE!!! Plus, I love her patterns!

  22. sarahjane says:

I need this book because there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a person with depression fall in love with a crocheted toy. I love to make toys for anybody and everybody who needs the love of a cuddly yarn friend. Thank you!

  23. Amy says:

I saw this book in the bookstore the other day, and have never before wanted to learn to crochet. But now I do. I’d love to have this book to learn how to make such cuties — I have four preschool kiddos who definitely would love mommy making them new stuffed toys regularly!

  24. Libby says:

I need this so I can MAKE these adorable little critters and share them with the world!!

  25. lisa says:

because i’m a broke college student, and it would be the perfect gift for my friend ally who loves to crochet. she’s been super supportive through all the twists and turns life has decided it needed to throw at me this past summer, and i can think of no better way to pay her back than with a lovely book of crochet patterns.

  26. Keri says:

I’m teaching my friend’s nine year old daughter how to knit and crochet and she’s intimidated by large projects. These look like really cute, fun little things for her to try. I don’t want her to give up because she’s a very artistic and talented girl, and I think she’d have a lot of fun with knitting and crocheting once she gains some confidence.

…as a crafty father of two, I need even more projects that I can make for my kids. They are getting tired of socks, hats and scarves. This would make them and me very happy.

  32. GTIChick says:

Do I need it? Probably not. Do I want it? Definitely!
I’m a working mom who is obsessed by all things Japanese, including amigurumi, but I haven’t been too successful in actually making any of the cute little animals. I need inspiration I can actually read, instead of depending on diagrams in the Japanese books. My kids and my friends’ kids would probably like cute little critters that look more like, well, cute little critters, rather than deformed lumps of stitches.
And, if I won, it would break my lifelong streak of never winning anything. ;-)

  33. Kelly says:

I’ve always wanted to learn amigurumi and now’s the perfect time! They’re adorable and I definitely need some cuteness in my life considering my new apartment doesn’t allow pets.

  34. Emily S says:

I need this because the cuteness is unbearable!!

  35. Michelle says:

Doesn’t everyone need a little cute in their life? And more yarn couldn’t hurt, either! Thanks for the chance to win.

  36. jessy says:

because I have wanted to do this for years. I’ve tried several times to learn crochet because of amigurumi. This could be the one that helps me figure it out! The reviews are very positive, after all. ^_^

  37. Andrea says:

I live in a tiny apartment, so all my projects have to be tiny. Plus, the little critters are just adorable!

  38. Rabbit says:

I need this book because it has a lamby in it. My little 2 year old niece loves lambs and this would make a great Christmas gift I could make for her. Please please please! And thank you for the chance to win. fu_inle at hotmail dot com

  39. Alison says:

My story is that I keep saving up money to buy craft books… only to blow the money on more craft supplies. (Haha!) It would be great if I could finally get an amigurumi book, especially Tamie Snow’s! I’ve made amis with some of her previous patterns, all of which I’ve found really great! Thanks!

  40. Richelle F says:

I would love to make some of these for my son!

  41. smoose003 says:

I have been wanting to try Amigurumi for a while and these small adorable little guys would be perfect. I just love small cute little projects to work on. These would also make great little stocking stuffers for my kids and all my nieces and nephews. There are a few grown ups that would probable love them too.

  42. Defessa says:

….because I have returned to crocheting (after several years) by making some scarfs. I would really love the challange of making amigurumi. Besides I know my kids and their friends would be happy when they got their own special friend.

  44. Elaine R says:

I would love to win this book! Christmas is coming these cute little knit animals would make great stocking stuffers!

  45. Kate says:

I need this book because I know so many people who would love these cute little animals as gifts! (Including myself.)

  46. Elizabeth says:

I am an obsessive amigurumi girl. I love looking at them, playing with them, and above all, making them. I frequently give amis as gifts. Roxycraft’s patterns have inspired me for awhile now, and I would love to add this book to my collection.

  47. Katie Caine says:

i’ve already crocheted everything in my other books!
And because so many patterns call for such large amounts of yarn, my scraps are just building and building. I typically try to use that extra yarn as bows on packaging and whatnot, but if I could actually crochet ALL of the yarn–now THAT would be amazing!
I NEED small projects! I NEED this book!

  48. Vicki says:

This book would be a great addition to my crochet collection, which has just begun since I’ve just begun learning how to crochet. Plus, the animals are darn cute.
    Thanks for offering this.

  49. Michelle says:

Last night I was shocked awake from a deep sleep by the voice of someone sounding a lot like a cross between Ken Watanabe and Godzilla. With very specific instructions, this voice told me to quickly crochet a Japanese junk in preparation for a catastrophic flood that would destroy every living thing on earth. The voice also instructed me to bring into the junk two of all crocheted creatures, male and female amigurumis. I quickly grabbed my crochet hook (carved from a holy chopstick) and completed the junk as I was commanded to do. Now I must fill the vessel with creatures from the holy amigurumi book, and I must hurry because the rain has started to fall…drip …drip …drip …

  50. Rosa L says:

    Dearest Craft magazineee,
    I need this book because:
I have this vision of myself making these little critters, and putting them all around my college campus… On an obscure bookshelf in the library, near the soy milk dispenser in the cafeteria, outside strangers dorm rooms, on top of vending machines, under trees.
In my vision each critter has a little sign that says something along the lines of: I am free and meant just for you. I am made with lots of love. So now go out and love some more.
(yes that is a Harould and Maude reference)
    Alright so thats ittt.
Thats why I really really need this book that looks like the most wonderful book!

  51. Crystal says:

    Why?
Because her pattern for a bunny was the first that I’d made, and without that pattern I wouldn’t have the herd of tiny animals around my house.

  52. AmyP says:

I’m currently making toys and clothes for premature babies in the UK and these little crocheted animals would be perfect for the babies to snuggle up to!

  53. tinker says:

I have 2 children under 6 and they love little yarn creatures.
