CRAFT at Maker Faire

Here’s some of the exciting craft-filled activities you can enjoy at Maker Faire this weekend!

CRAFT Booth
Come by the CRAFT booth in Expo Hall where we will have fun craft demos from your favorite crafters each hour. Here’s the full schedule. This year we are excited to have Xyron in our booth where our own Brookelynn Morris will be leading some hands-on workshops on crafting with the Creatopia. Or just come by to talk to the team! We love to talk crafts.
Mfba2010 Needlefelt
Needlefelting Playground
Also in the CRAFT booth, is Needlefelting Playground where Moxie will be around all weekend to teach you how to needlefelt!
Mfba2010 Swap

Swap-O-Rama-Rama & Fashion Show
Bring any size bag of your unwanted clothes and swap it to refashion it into something new at the Swap-O-Rama-Rama. You’ll be able to learn how to sew, embroider, silk-screen, and more! Enjoy the fashion show on Saturday at 5pm on the Platform Stage which features local designers who staffed the event. (This event is free with attendance to Maker Faire.)
Mfba2010 Bazbiz
Bazaar Bizaare
Shop for some of the best indie goods around at Bazaar Bizarre! You can see who will be there in the vendor gallery. Pictured above is one of my favorite vendors, Narumi from Mr. Funky.
Mfba2010 Mgastronomy
Food Maker Pavillion & Homegrown Village Workshops
Check out the schedule of food makers! We’ve got a variety of demos on topics such as tofu making, solar cooking, and Molecular Gastronomy (pictured above). We’re also happy to have the Homegrown Village workshops covering the latest in sustainable food. Learn how to make your own butter!
Mfba2010 Etextile
eTextile: Smart Clothing Fashion Show
At 3:30 on Saturday, don’t miss Lynne Bruning’s eTextile: Smart Clothing Fashion Show which fuses tech and fashion, function and form, reality and possibility.

Garth Johnson of Extreme Craft
Garth take the Center Stage and talks about The History of Creative Reuse. While researching for his book, Garth found was a rich history of reuse and recycling among such cultures as the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, Medieval Christians and many others, a subject worthy of their own book. This lecture shows that our society has a lot of work to do just to catch up to our ancestors.
Mfba2010 Lionbrand
Lion Brand Yarn
Learn how to knit or crochet and enjoy a great time with our friends at the Lion Brand Yarn booth.
Mfba2010 Provocraft
Provo Craft
Sarah Hosdon and Mark Montano will be at the Provo Craft booth showing you how to use the extensive line of crafting products from the Yudu to the Cricut.
You can also check out the full schedule of events on the Maker Faire web site and see the list of craft-related makers.
