At Maker Faire Bay Area 2011, Katharine Jolda demonstrates the Cyclocarder, a bicycle powered wool carding machine. Inspired by the cotton gin, pedal power spins raw wool so the fibers are aligned and can easily be used to make thread or fabric.

    May i ask if the cyclocarder do separates seeds from the staple cotton? Or does it just aligns raw cotton(which has seeds removed already)?

    this is a machine for carding wool….from sheep….no seeds….
