It seems like crafting and podcasts have always enjoyed a symbiotic relationship. Crafting is a great way to listen to a podcast without getting distracted, and podcasts are a wonderful way to enjoy a little entertainment and digest some information while working on a project. So, if you’ve ever thought about starting your own crafty podcast, you might be pleased to hear that you probably already have the makings of some invaluable podcast equipment in your crafty stash, as this image shared by writer, maker, and podcaster Kim Werker illustrates!

A pop filter is an important piece of recording equipment used to reduce or eliminate ‘popping’ usually caused by saying words that contain a strong “P” sound into the microphone. By simply stretching a stocking over an embroidery hoop you can create a totally effective pop filter that will help you make a great recording and protect your microphone.

Go ahead and give Kim Werker’s new crafty podcast called “COMPULSORY” a listen to hear just how well her homemade pop filter works during her amusing chat with artist Rachael Ashe about the creative process and the benefits of listening to podcasts while working!
