Gutenberg modified a screw press used for wine making in order to create his first printing press and apparently that DIY tradition is still alive and well in this amazing image, spotted by Printmaker’s Open Forum on the Libyan Printmakers’ Facebook page, which appears to be a little printing press made from a modified milk crate.

Nice hack. I think the milk crate’s main function here is just to hold the clothes wringer in place.
