Father’s Day Gift Guide 2012

I was lucky enough to be raised by an amazing father, and now I’m married to another one, so I have a deep appreciation for everything Dads do. I love the idea of a twist on traditional Father’s Day gifts (like a handmade tie with a special fabric), but here are a mix of ideas, for your Dad, Grandpa, husband, brother, son, or just a wonderful Dad you know who needs some appreciation.

I love these 2×2 building block cufflinks so much, I bought a set for my husband at Maker Faire (shh, don’t tell!). The best thing about them is that they are lost wax cast so you can actually put real Legos on top of them.


If you’re a sewer (or even if you’re not!), here’s an oldie but goodie: Purl Bee’s Father’s Day Tie pattern. I’m swooning over the fabrics; I will definitely be making one of these out of my fabric hoard.
