In the spirit of this month’s theme, Wardrobe Refresh, I unearthed this awesome, simple project from CRAFT Volume 06 by the talented Erin McKean. Erin cleverly teaches you how to avoid the hassle of hems by using a vintage tablecloth to make a perfect skirt. What a fab idea! Basically, you wash, dry, and iron the tablecloth of your kitschy choosing, measure your waist, make a skirt doughnut, sew the side seams, install the zipper, and finish the waistband. Here’s the full project shared with you in our Digital Edition, and details on pockets, embellishments, and fit adjustments are available on the project page. To pick up a copy of CRAFT Volume 06, head on over to the Maker Shed. Enjoy!
Pictured above looking oh-so-lovely in the circle skirt is our very own staff editor, Arwen O’Reilly Griffith. Arwen is a brand new mama of a beautiful baby boy named Huxley. A very happy first Mother’s Day to you, Miss Arwen!
