All weekend at Maker Faire Austin I was chatting up a storm about the uses of conductive thread. We carried the E-sewing kit and the LilyPad Arduino kit in the Maker Shed, and I gave an embroidery demo on adding LEDs to your projects. I made this angler fish picture with the help of CRAFT blogger and Austin native Rachel Hobson. Katie Wilson, the designer for the magazines made her very first embroidery project, and I think she’s a natural tech crafter with her light-up birthday cupcake picture. It was really wonderful meeting all the lovely craft enthusiasts and seeing the excitement in everyone’s eyes. I can’t wait for the next Maker Faire!
