How-To: Neon Skeleton Keys

I’ve always loved skeleton keys—in relation to weddings or as quirky antiques—so I’m definitely digging this neon skeleton keys tutorial that my pal Polly from The Firefly Express shared on Limn & Lovely!

Keys! They’re a classic, symbolic piece of wedding decor. I wanted to create a modern, versatile take on the skeleton key by combining two of my favorite trends: washi tape and neon. These bold keys can adorn favors, hang from floral arrangements, or be used as color-coded escort cards.

I’ve been collecting antique keys for years and I try to keep the original patina intact, so I nearly had a heart attack when I saw keys covered in neon paint! I was relieved that the tutorial used reproduction keys and acrylic paint (which is relatively easy to remove).
