What a simple and pretty way to dress up a thrift-store bowl! Kate at Centsational Girl shows us how to do this sisal rope treatment. I could see this idea working beautifully on bottles and jars, too.

Oh wow, thanks so much for the feature! This was a really easy project, one that keeps getting comments from my friends. . . me thinks they want me to make them one soon.
Thanks again for the linky love.

Looks great. I love rope, woven, and similar bowls and baskets.
One thing to keep in mind when using this stuff for food you should make sure you are using Food Grade sisal. The stuff you’ll find in home repair shops may be treated with pesticides and preservative chemicals to keep the ropes from breaking down or becoming infested during transport.

Melanie, that’s a great point. Thank you so much for sharing it!
