My very first apartment in NYC had it all: sketchy neighborhood, steam leaks, and windows that didn’t even come close to locking. But, looking back, what I really remember most are the gorgeous brass faceplates and vintage glass doorknobs. Small details can add a ton of charm to an otherwise underwhelming place!
