What gets my belt loops is the handle on the storm door. I have my arms full of stuff and when the door closes up against me as I’m trying to get through w/o dropping everything, the handle hooks into my belt loop and “RIP!” away it goes…
    Very nice tip!

Not a mend I know, but I’d love to see a tutorial on taking in waistbands on pants and trousers that have become to big. it would almost double my wardrobe (in terms of pants that is!).

I’d like to know if there are any ideas for fixing thin kid’s cotton pants that rip in the knees? I’ve tried patches but they don’t look very cute when they are on the knees…it obviously looks like I am trying to cover holes. Usually the knees end up with a larger hole and maybe a smaller one nearby. The problem with these pants getting ripped is that they are exact matches to short dresses and I can’t easily get replacements for the pants so I end up with a cute little dress that the kids can’t wear because the pants have ripped knees.
