Moroccan Boucherouite Rugs

Berber-Arts has a nice little collection of images of Moroccan rag rugs, called boucherouite – from the Moroccan Arabic bu sherwit, “a piece torn from pre-used clothing.” I like the look of the slightly shaky geometric patterns.

Before only in art galleries. Now available online (http://www.etsy.com/shop/dedeloco?ref=pr_shop) at Etsy.
Another example of democracy in design thanks to the internet and social media. The wildness and uniqueness are still there but availability is way wider now.
I have seen these rugs in the past two editions of Elle Decor France. Is it just “momentum” or have we got a rug that really combines art&craft, anthropology&current social context? Gorgeous pieces on the post.

These are beautiful! Are they for sale?
