If you’ve been saving up your pretty little sewing scraps, this project is the perfect way to use them up. I have to say that one can never have too many zippered pouches, and they make fantastic gifts. I use them for bathroom organization, and to corral multiples of smaller craft supplies like writing implements and knives.
If your intention is to keep specific tools in your pouches, it would be neat to include a graphic of the tool on the outside of the case. This is easily achieved with a freezer paper stencil, and grabbing your favorite icon from The Noun Project, and cutting it out on your Silhouette.
All of the icons on The Noun Project are available to use for free under the Creative Commons License (you must give attribution to the creator). If you’re looking to use it without attribution, it’s only a couple bucks to own the file and use it to your heart’s content. This is a fantastic resource for those who like to create things using CNC machinery, like a laser cutter and the Silhouette paper cutter. The files are available as vectors in an SVG format, so you can quickly get your graphic cut out and get on with crafting!
