I had a chance to ask Michele Sienna, Designer for Simplicity Creative Group, a few questions about Simplicity’s line of Halloween trims for this year. They caught my eye while brainstorming Halloween costumes and decorations, so I wanted to ask Michele about her favorites as well as where her inspiration comes from for designing. Read the interview and see each of the trim samples after the jump. I’m going to be working on some projects with these trim varieties, so make sure to check back! Has anyone tried using these yet?

Of the trims you’ve designed, what was your favorite one this year?
It is very tough to pick one, they are meant to work with each other – the marabou with the sparkle tulle, the sequin trim with the danglers.
Where did you draw your Halloween inspiration for these trims?
Everywhere- stores, Internet, magazines and of course my favorite, costume parties.
What other colors feel like Halloween to you?
Purple, lime green, along with the traditional black and orange. Another favorite combo is mixing the candy corn colors- white yellow and orange. We did a pom fringe using this color combo as well.
What’s your favorite item to add trim, like these, to?
Capes,witches hats
Are you making a Halloween costume for you or anyone else this year?
For my 10-year-old daughter I am making a “Pop star” witch costume with layers of trims, poms, etc. Kind of ’20’s flapper style.
