CRAFT Submission Guidelines
CRAFT is dedicated to the renaissance that's occurring in the world of crafts, and to the people who are transforming traditional crafts with new materials, techniques, and imagination. When you write something for CRAFT at craftzine.com, use your voice. Tell us the story behind your project.
To pitch an idea, use this form.
DIY Project Tutorials
If you've made something cool and want to show other people how to make one, we'd like to publish it at CRAFT. (Note: We're interested in hearing about things you've already made, not things you are just thinking about making.)
Remember this when you're writing for CRAFT: you're the readers' coach. Think of your reader as a smart person who doesn't necessarily know what you know. Imagine the questions he or she might have about your project. Explain everything they need to know to re-create the thing you're writing about.
If we accept your proposal for a DIY project, you'll need to submit the article in a format that fits our template. We'll provide you with further instructions.
If your project is long and complicated, or certain parts of it are better explained in media other than text and photos, that's no problem. We can run your article on CRAFT at craftzine.com and point to PDFs, code, software, audio, video, more photos, etc., on craftzine.com or on other websites.
