The Toy Capsule Lamp

Whenever I buy a toy out of one of those 25-cent machines outside the supermarket, part of me always wants to save the little plastic capsule that the toy comes in. I’ve never figured out what do do with them, but it seems like there’s a lot of potential there.

Here’s one interesting way to use them: plastic capsules have been incorporated into this simple and modern-looking pendant lamp, from Hong-Kong design firm Design Systems Ltd. This would be an awesome light fixture in a child’s bedroom or playroom.

Love that idea! Millions of those capsules are probably never saved and should be recycled or reused for other things.
