Lillian Weber, who happens to be 99 years old, makes a dress for a child in Africa every day, which get distributed through the Little Dresses for Africa charity organization. She has made over 840 dresses so far, and she’s aiming to make at least 1,000 by her 100th birthday. Although she says that she could make up to 2 dresses a day, she spends time personalizing every dress she makes so that each one is unique for each unique little girl who receives one.

If you’d like to make a dress for a child in Africa, here’s a simple pillow case dress pattern provided by Little Dresses for Africa, but you can also use your own simple dress pattern and material if you’d prefer.
