Third Annual Etsy Craft Party

The third annual Etsy Craft Party is on Friday, August 24th 2012!
Craft Party is a time to get to know your neighbors and exercise your creative spirit. Craft Parties take place simultaneously around the world when communities come together to participate in art, craft, design and DIY in every form. Anyone can organize a Craft Party and anyone can participate—the power is literally in your hands!

This year’s theme:
Wish You Were Here
Participants are encouraged to work together on projects that reflect their hometowns, including local and regional crafts, music, style, and food. Pay tribute to a notable landmark or place, set up an activity that tells local lore through handmade means, or come up with a creative project that has local flavor—it’s up to each local Craft Party to decide how to showcase the theme at their party!
How to get started:

  • Download the free Craft Party Kit. It’s filled with tips, tutorials, printables, checklists, photo props, and more.
  • Plan your own event. Every party that has 25+ RSVPs by August 12 will receive a free box of craft supplies from Michaels! Head to the Etsy Craft Party 2012 page for more info.
  • Join an event in your area. Find a Craft Party near you on Meetup Everywhere.
  • The first Etsy event I ever attended was the Etsy Craft Party, so I can definitely vouch for the fun. I can’t wait to get together with my fellow Brooklyn crafters at this year’s event! Will you be partying too?

I’ve long admired the work on Etsy, and am considering putting some of my quilling and gift baskets on Etsy. This is all new to me, however, so it might take me a little while to figure out how it works exactly. If anyone has any tips for me, I welcome your assistance and experience! Thank you so much!
