Mini Star Wars BB-8 Ball Droid with a Hacked Sphero

The new Star Wars Droid, BB-8, recently took the stage during The Force Awakens panel and stole everyone’s heart. Christian Poulsen decided to take a Sphero 1.0 and use it to make a working mini version. The magic behind this cute toy lies in the neodymium magnets that bring together the Sphero body and polyurethane foam head. This post will show you everything you have to do to make a little droid of your own.

FPV Star Wars Speeder Bike Quadcopter Puts You in the Driver’s Seat

While out flying his quadcopter, Adam Woodworth couldn’t help thinking of the memorable Endor chase scene from Return of the Jedi. The way he was flying his quadcopter low and fast reminded him of the Imperial Speeder Bikes. He decided to combine a Hasbro Power Of The Force series Speeder Bike with his quadcopter and ended up with a great project and tutorial. He followed this fun project up with a Luke Skywalker version that is also worth checking out.

Pool Noodle Lightsaber for Full-Contact Jedi Battles

Leah Cherry caught the Star Wars bug and knew she needed to make something fun for her kids to get them in on the action. She came up with a fun “boffer” style lightsaber that was perfect for them to reenact the fun battles in the movie. Her crafty design is safe for kids and very cheap to reproduce; all you need is a pool noodle (one noodle will make two sabers) and duct tape in the colors of your choice. You can make a whole set of these and throw your kids a fun Star Wars themed party or just prepare them to cosplay when the newest Star Wars movie finally comes out.

Is this not enough for you? Then here’s a couple more!

Star Wars Sarlacc Bundt Cake Recipe

Bring Star Wars to your meal by baking up a Sarlacc Bundt Cake. Kathleen Siegle went for fun and tasty when she made up this buttery caramel bundt cake topped with crumbled Biscoff cookies to imitate the sandy landscape of Tatooine.
