Janelle Gibson Founder - Jewelry Designer Janelle Gibson is a jewelry designer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her past work includes teaching children with special needs and art instruction. She has a bachelors degree in Art Studio and a Masters degree in Special Education. In 2004, she read an article about a seven year old girl who was sold into prostitution and kept prisoner in a brothel for many years. At the time, she was working as a successful jewelry designer. The article galvanized her to create a line of sterling silver jewelry to raise money to combat the sex trafficking of girls. In 2005, she founded Soulgems, which now provides funding to organizations in Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal and Zimbabwe.
