Relief Scupture in Light

This process started as the ultimate way to carve a jack-o-lantern, but other materials can be used with a light-box to great artistic effect. Any semi-transparent material can be carved in bas-relief to create a design that is only revealed once the material is back-lit.

The table will include necessary materials (pumpkins, foam core, light box, projection and tracing equipment, carving tools), and a few examples with different materials at different stages of development. I'll be in the process of carving one during the exhibit just to show how fun it is.
