Giant Painting Machine
Type:
Maker Table/Exhibit
Program Area:
Arts
Location: Fiesta Hall
Giant Painting Machine (San Mateo) is a simple electro-mechanical system built largely from found parts and scrap materials. It paints complex and dynamic abstract images by tracing a continuous, cycling path across a large sheet of transparent plastic. Because GPM is a wiggly mechanical device, the nature of its brush strokes is constantly changing, and its conceptually smooth, arcing lines are full of smudges, drips, and wobbles. We will make one large painting over the two days of the Makers Faire.
